Introduction to Permaculture is the beginning for those wanting to explore how to create abundant edible gardens; and support sustainable communities.
Hosted by Lizzy Smith with Dr Cally Brennan.
Over two consecutive Sundays, learn the principles of permaculture and how to put them into action in your life.
By the end of the 2 relaxed and life affirming days, you will:
- Know the ethics and principles of permaculture well
- Be able to use permaculture as a framework for the design of your own home and lifestyle.
- Understand how to create abundant edible gardens at home
- Have ideas and confidence on how to take some positive actions within your community
- See local examples and methods that suit our local bioregion.
Lizzy and Cally are both experienced designers of permaculture systems.
Lizzy Smith works in management systems design and with social enterprises and cooperatives. Lizzy owns and manages Permaculture. - a free app. to help you access all things online about Permaculture. She has practiced Permaculture for 18 years and holds a Permaculture Design Certificate and other design qualifications. She loves designing for ease and less work. Her focus this year is on inciting positive actions; growing all her greens with enough to share; and creating ways to evolve locally in Queanbeyan.
Dr Cally Brennan has been a keen food gardener since she got her first vegetable patch as a child. She has been practising Permaculture for over 9 years. As a certified Permaculture designer, she served as a Director on the Board of Permaculture Australia from mid 2018 to mid 2020. In 2013 she founded Canberra Permaculture Design and Education which offers garden advice, design consultancies, workshops and hand made wicking beds.
