Introduction to Permaculture
Event description
Introduction to Permaculture Design
Sunday 30th August 1-4pm - @ Northbank Community Gardens - Bellingen
Presented by Linda Woodrow, author of the best-selling "The Permaculture Home Garden", and Peter Lewis, President of Coffs Community Gardens and educator at Barcoo Community Gardens.
This introduction packs the principles of a permaculture design certificate into an easily managed practical engagement so that at the end you can design an urban landscape using good permaculture design to gain a long term satisfaction of food production in a balanced and sustainable garden. The workshop breaks some of the permaculture jargon into relatable insights into how permaculture can provide better and more productive solutions to common garden problems. We'll look at solar aspects, crop and tree stacking, pest and predator ecology and how to create a good design before you start planting.
And we'll do some practice designs together to see how you put the principles into practice without getting bogged down.
Brought to you through Our Living Coast and Bellingen Shire Council, Bellingen Shire Learning Alliance and Northbank Community Gardens
