Event description

Spend a fabulous day with artist Jill Talbot exploring the many aspects of mono printing, simple stencil work, collage and relief printmaking and create a body of work which includes a large mixed media artwork reflecting all processes you have learnt throughout the day.

In this workshop participants will:

Begin with an exploration of monoprinting.
Create textures, shapes and line that are impossible to express with other mediums.
Learn the differences between age old practices such as relief and intaglio printing.
Produce stencil images to add to your compositions.
Make a small collagraph block to add decorative patterns.
Combine techniques with other processes learned throughout the day.

At the end of the workshop, students will have made a monoprinted portrait, either a self portrait, a friend/family member or a pet. Produced a “limited edition” relief print of a native animal or bird. and created a larger, more complex work of bold beauty!

The day will be fully catered for by 'Dekiahs' with scrumptious treats with coffee/tea and a sit down vegetarian lunch.

All Material and catering cost is included in the ticket price.

Participants can bring their own apron, and should bring a photograph of a person or pet. Participants can also purchase their own speciality papers and will be contacted by the artist with further details.
