Family issues related to farm succession have increased substantially over the last two years, with increases in land values and perceived inequity from “off farm” family members rating high amongst the list of challenges. The SMARTEST and MOST SUCCESSFUL family farm businesses are talking about and planning for succession/transition early and openly - Here's your opportunity to be amongst them.  
 
RFCSNR  in collaboration with the Farm Business Resilience Program are pleased to be delivering  "An Introduction to Succession Planning" to regional NSW. A workshop for inter-generational farming families or individuals looking to plan for farm transition wisely.
This LIMITED SPACE event is designed to support and encourage generations to attend together and begin securing the future of their agricultural legacy on the same page.

Featuring the highly experienced and respected Jess Cavanagh from Proagtive (specialists in assisting farming families manage generational change), this presentation will encourage you to take charge of your future and get a firm grasp of the most common and critical aspects of succession planning. 

  •  The essential steps to ensure a smooth transition of your farm to the next generation or alternative  
  •  What to consider when navigating legal complexities  
  •  How to avoid common mistakes and pitfalls
  •  Fostering open communication among family members

About the Presenter

Jess Cavanagh - Proagtive
Your presenter - Jess Cavanagh, Proagtive

Jess is the General Manager of Proagtive and is the first point of contact for new families. Jess enjoys spending time getting to understand the intricacies of each family, and assisting to find outcomes that suit the perspectives and circumstances of each family, and knowing that those outcomes can be achieved.

Agriculture is deeply ingrained in Jess’ blood. She is passionate about the evolution of modern agriculture and seeing that farming businesses use best practices to ensure longevity and sustainability of the industry. Jess holds a Double degree in Arts/Laws and has previous work experience in private law firms and in Local Government in Economic Development and Integrated Planning and Reporting.

Jess is fourth generation in a family farming business based near Harden, NSW. Her husband, Brad works in the farm business and together they run a first generation Angus stud. Their three children experience so much joy in spending time on the farm. Jess sees family farm living as the best type of lifestyle for raising children and teaching them to realise the major role that agriculture plays both domestically and internationally.

Jess’ dream is that Australian families will continue to have the passion, drive and skill to continue in their roles as custodians of Australian farms well into the future. Jess believes the Proagtive team has the unique expertise and experience required to assist families in upholding this dream.
