INTRODUCTION TO THE WOOD WORKSHOP
Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, our very popular introductory series covers a range of woodworking equipment found in our wood workshop. It's suitable for beginners or anyone wishing to upskill and gain confidence, particularly in power-tools and machinery.
Each workshop session offers the chance to use a range of equipment in a supportive, friendly setting while doing good for the community building items to support the work of our partner, Urban Ark - Manawa Taiao. All materials and equipment are provided.
3 x sessions for this series (Thursdays 10am - 1pm):
Wk 1 - 16 Oct
Wk 2 - 23 Oct
Wk 3 - 30 Oct
Includes:
- timber basics, marking and measuring
- Saws (hand-saws, drop saw, circular saws, jig saws)
- drills and drivers
- hand tools including hand planes, hammers and chisels
- electric planers
- metal work
- screw/nail fixings
- Dremmels and machines such as drill presses and bandsaws (if time)

What to expect:
Each class is for 3 hrs
All workshop PPE (eye, ear, respiratory protection) will be available but we recommend to bring your own high quality mask if you are sensitive to dust.
Max of 6 people per workshop (minimum of 4 to run)
