Event description

Arborists and landscape professionals are often asked, "What is my tree worth?" Often it is general interest in their tree values. However, more likely it is about a claim for damages or a loss. This is where it is important to understand the foundations of the tree appraisal process to help your client or tree owner, manager. There are principles and practices which allow Green Industry Professionals to render an opinion of value for plants and this introductory seminar will explore those concepts.

The Foundations of Tree Appraisal is a one-day seminar which will teach the principles of plant appraisal and examine case studies to help establish a baseline competence for conducting appraisals. The seminar will be led by Lindsey Purcell and Andrew Mertz, which both hold the ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and Registered Consulting Arborist credentials.

Cost includes handout materials and lunch. It is strongly encouraged to purchase and bring along the new 10th Edition of the Guide. It is available from the ISA bookstore.

6 CEUs will be available for ISA credential holders.

The costs of this program have been subsidized by a grant from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Community and Urban Forestry. Also, special thanks to the City of Fort Wayne Parks Department.
