Discover the joy of painting intuitively, the joy of process, and the joy of playing. Explore materials and tools without any pre-conceived ideas or trying to make a particular finished painting ‘happen’.

Get free and loose with your painting and discover your own mark making style.

There will be plenty of guidance and feedback along the way. This is not a technique heavy workshop.

The expectation is NOT to go home with a finished painting, it is about exploring and playing with different materials and having the right mindset to help you on the road to discovering your unique style.

Across two Saturdays, you will learn to:

• Make a collage mood board to help you know what to paint

• Set up an acrylic palette

• Painting in series

• Colour triads to narrow down your favourite colours

• Use collage papers to disrupt and enhance your work

• Introduction to making your own collage papers

• Explore different acrylic mediums

• Explore mark making

• Learn how to develop your own style through experimentation

• Get out of your head and enjoy the process!

Please bring: painting clothes or an apron, water bottle, lunch and a note book.

Tea, coffee and morning tea (gluten-free) will be provided however students are asked to bring their own lunch for the day.

This workshop is for persons 16+ years of age.

Tania Vrancic is a contemporary ceramic artist, abstract painter, and mixed media artist with over 18 years’ experience. Drawing inspiration from landscape and childhood memories Tania creates a sense of freedom and whimsy mixed with a Scandinavian design aesthetic.
