Intuitive Singing & Creative Writing Workshops: Katoomba

JOIN US ON THURSDAY 21st May from 7-9pm
@ the inner space, 96A Camp St, Katoomba 2780

We acknowledge the Dharug & Gundungurra People as the traditional custodians on whose unceded land this event will take place. This always was, always will be Aboriginal Land. We acknowledge Elders past & present and recognise and respect their continued connection and care for this sacred land, skies and waterways through their culture, customs and storytelling.

What’s On:

Join us for 2 hour workshop exploring unique intuitive singing and writing practices

When we have experiences of being silenced, ignored or oppressed we can develop blocks in our creativity and freedom of expression. I have designed a series of methods and tools to support you in unlocking your unique vocal expression and move through creative writing blocks holding you back from sharing your ideas and messages with the world.

Within the magical earth inspired studio of curvaceous mud rendered walls of straw bales, spotted gum flooring, and exquisite acoustics, I will be guiding you through an embodied practice exploring movement, energy cultivation, connecting with emotions and the power of meditation, intention and breath.

This tranquil space is designed to enhance relaxation, presence and creativity for a deeper connection to ourselves and one another. If you have always wanted to sing, jam with other musicians or write original poems and songs but just couldn’t find the words, this is the perfect space for you to explore and express your voice naturally. All experience levels are welcome!

What to expect:

A dynamic stretching and ecstatic dance session to help bring your body to the present moment
Guided meditation to enhance relaxation through clearing the static and quiet the noise of limiting beliefs making way for inspired intention
An intuitive singing session/jam that holds space for the free expression of your voice and any inspired words and messages that wish to be shared
A creative writing session that grounds inspiration into forms that can be shared with audiences

If you would like any more information about this workshop or 1:1 singing & writing sessions, please contact your facilitator Zea: desertempressmusic@proton.me

Zea is a singer-songwriter who has performed both locally and internationally and has been facilitating sound-based workshops for over a decade. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in the power of sound, not as performance but rather as a tool for clarity, connection and healing. Through voice, listening and presence, she creates a space that gently supports people in reconnecting with their inner world. Zea’s facilitation style is warm, steady and deeply human. There’s no pressure to perform, share or transform. Just an invitation to explore sound as a way of playfulness, and aligning with your deepest truth and highest calling- at your own pace.
She walks alongside participants, holding space with care, simplicity and genuine attentiveness in a safe and grounded environment where you can listen, soften, and return to yourself & celebrate your truest inner voice.
