Investing for Income | Series 1
Event description
Join us for an insightful discussion on the latest developments in the financial landscape, the first series focusing on the recent pre-emptive moves by banks to cut term deposit rates. Over the past 18 months, savers have enjoyed elevated rates, earning attractive returns with minimal risk by holding cash in the bank. However, with rates set to decline and banks already initiating these changes, the impact on income investors is significant.
Last month, Shaw and Partners successfully co-managed a $1.5 billion Capital Notes raising for Macquarie. These hybrid securities have seen robust demand due to their safety, typically backed by major banks, and the current elevated rate environment, offering a margin above standard rates.
Despite the substantial $1.5 billion raise, investor interest was so high that bids were scaled back to 35%, underscoring the strong demand for these securities. Even with the anticipated fall in rates, these securities provide a margin above the cash rate, enhancing income and maintaining their appeal.
We invite you to join the conversation on income investing and explore strategies to optimize your income in this evolving market.
Daniel, an investment adviser at Shaw and Partners, will present and engage in a Q&A session with all guests. With deep expertise in financial markets and strategic long-term planning, he meticulously constructs and manages investment portfolios for a select group of private clients and sophisticated investors.
Please note this event is Tailored for High Net Worth Individuals with assets exceeding $2 million.
Attendance is limited to 10 investors.Â
