Event description

Local needs are always changing. What’s relevant to our communities across the Bega Valley right now? How can local community organisations work together to better respond to what our communities need now?

From FRRR’s work in the Bega Valley through the Investing in Not-for-Profit Capacity in Regional NSW (INFPC) program, we know these are important questions for your community.

If you are looking for a more collaborative, strategic approach to support communities in the Bega Valley, please join us for a thought-provoking, free workshop for not-for-profit and community organisations based in the Bega Valley to explore these topics.

Together we will:

  • Make connections with others facing similar challenges;
  • Identify emerging needs in our communities, and what resources we have;
  • Understand where our organisations are aligned, where there is crossover, where there are gaps;
  • Identify where we need and want to focus our energy in the next few years;
  • Identify fresh ideas and a possible shared approach; and
  • Consider next steps for your organisation to review its own strategy.

      This workshop is for you if you are:

      • Involved in a community group or not-for-profit based in and serving the Bega Valley communities; and
      • A volunteer, board member, or paid team member.

        We encourage you to come along with other representatives from your organisation, to bring a diversity of perspectives, to build strength, and to get the most out of the day.

        What you can expect:

        • Through story-telling, exploring what is really great about our organisations;
        • Through structured conversations, exploring what our community would look like if our organisations were making our greatest contribution.

                                          * What are the possible ways we could make that contribution?

                                          * Where can we best focus our energy now to make this happen?

        • Spending time in organisational teams to explore other ideas and strategies.

        The workshop will be facilitated by Campfire Co-op and their local team. People who have experienced this highly participatory workshop style have found them restful, engaging, inspiring and fun. Bring your curiosity, care, understanding, ideas and passion, or just yourselves with a willingness to listen and share.

        Please note, attendance for the whole time is most beneficial, and highly encouraged, although we understand that may not be possible. Please arrive ready to start at 9.30am, tea and coffee available on arrival.
