You’re invited to a night with Mel: Investing Is The New Black

Did you know that 42% of all investors are now women?

Almost half!

Did you know that about two thirds of women now invest outside of their superannuation?

Two thirds!

That makes investing the new black.

Suddenly caring about our future selves and creating financial choice is seen as desirable and maybe even a little sexy.

But there’s more to investing than just downloading an app.

Join me, Mel Browne, ex-financial advisor, investor and now financially independent in my own right (after coming back from less than nothing in my thirties) as I unpack what investing should mean to you. I'll look at:

What are the different asset classes AND why is diversification so important?
What does your risk profile mean and can it change over time?
Should you be concentrating on paying debt off first?
Can you invest with small amounts?
Plus I'll run you through some case studies to show what investing can look like and show you pros and cons of different strategies.

Together we'll make sure you're not just jumping on the bandwagon of the investing trend, but understanding what it means for you.

Date: Thursday 13th June 2024

Time: 5:00pm arrival for 5:30pm start – 7:00pm

Where: WorkClub Olderfleet, Collins St, Melb CBD

Cost: $49 each

P.S. If you can find the perfect pair of jeans (and you know how freaking hard that is sometimes), you can absofreakinglutely understand asset classes, shares and bonds and what the right investment strategy is for you.

A big thank you to our sponsor, Sharesies Australia who have helped make this event possible.

Hey I’m Mel

Let’s be clear, I’m not your typical finance bro. Yes, I’m an award-winning ex-accountant and ex-financial advisor but I’m also a multi-millionaire (after having started with less than nothing in my early thirties) who is now a financial educator & best-selling author.

My passion is to help women take control of & transform their finances.

I am also the author of four books, the illustrated business book More Money for Shoes, the coffee table book of financial fairy tales, Fabulous but Broke, global best-seller Unf*ck Your Finances and my latest book Budgets Don’t Work (but this does) which dives further into understanding your Money Story, Money Environment and Money Type. And, I have been featured, written or spoken for everyone from morning TV shows to Triple I to Vogue to CEO Magazine and more.
