Invisible Walls promotes cultural and artistic connection between Korea and Australia through poetry. Since 2022 we have brought twenty-four leading poets into transnational creative dialogue through live-interpreted video-conferencing and translated email exchanges, and we have commissioned our poets to write a collective total of seventy-two original poems based on their intercultural dialogues and learning.

In this free public webinar, a selection of Invisible Walls poets will read work produced through this project, and answer audience questions in Australian and Korean. The event will be live-interpreted between Korean and English and poems will be captioned in both languages.

Poets presenting at the event include Ha Jaeyoun, Barrina South, Dominic Symes, Jake Levine, Ko Hyeong Ryeol, Peter Boyle, Ann Vickery, Autumn Royal, Samantha Faulkner, Ra Heeduk, Šime Knežević, Shin Chul Kyu, Emily Sun and Jin Eun Young. Invisible Walls project facilitators Dan Disney and Amelia Walker will MC the event with interpretation by Mookil Choi.

Invisible Walls is funded by the Australia-Korea Foundation (AKF) and run in partnership between the University of South Australia and Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea. 보이지 않는 벽, Invisible Walls는 시를 통해 한국과 호주의 문화 예술적 연결을 촉진합니다. 2022년부터 우리는 실시간 통역 화상미팅과 번역된 이메일 교환을 통해 24명의 주요 시인들을 초국가적 며 창의적인 대화에 참여시켰고, 시인들에게 문화 간 대화와 학습을 바탕으로 총 72편의 독창적인 시를 쓰도록 의뢰했습니다. 이 무료 공개 웨비나에서는 엄선된 Invisible Walls 시인들이 이 프로젝트를 통해 창작된 작품을 읽고 호주와 한국어로 청중의 질문에 답할 것입니다. 이 행사는 한국어와 영어로 실시간 통역되며 시는 두 언어로 자막이 제공됩니다. 이 행사에는 시인으로는 하재윤, 바리나 사우스, 도미닉 사임스, 제이크 레빈, 고형렬, 피터 보일, 앤 비커리, 어텀 로얄, 사만사 포크너, 나희덕, 시메 크네제비치, 신철규, 에밀리 선, 진은영 등이 참여합니다. 보이지 않는 벽(Invisible Walls) 프로젝트 진행자인 댄 디즈니(Dan Disney)와 아밀리아 워커(Amelia Walker)가 최무킬(Mookil Choi)의 통역으로 MC를 맡습니다. 보이지 않는 벽 (Invisible Walls)는 호주-한국 재단(AKF)의 자금 지원을 받고 남호주 대학교와 서강 대학교가 공동으로 운영합니다. 이 프로젝트를 지속적으로 지원한 한국문학 번역연구원, 호주 작가 프로그램 협회, 캔버라 대학교 국제시학회, 호주시학회, UniSA의 CP3에 감사드립니다.
