Invitation to a Strategic Discussion: Solutions for a Diverse and Robust Defence Workforce to Deliver the Defence Strategic Review Priorities
Event description
On the eve of International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming event, "Strategic Solutions for a Diverse Defence Workforce to Deliver the Defence Strategic Review Priorities," taking place on the 7th of March. This gathering goes beyond a mere discussion; it's an opportunity for us to collectively address and build tangible solutions to the workforce challenges facing the Defence sector by unlocking latent workforce capability to:
- Deliver on the national priorities set in the Defence Strategic Review
- Increase the Defence sector STEM talent pool
- Improve national productivity
- Increase profitability and performance of Defence-sector businesses
To enrich our discussion, Dr Susan McGinty, Founder of Aya Leadership and expert in STEM and leadership development, will be unveiling her White Paper Navigating Diversity in STEM: Leveraging Female Leadership Development to Expand Diversity and Unlock Innovation, which provides practical strategies for STEM organisations in response to the recommendations from the Australian Government’s 2024 Pathway to Diversity in STEM Review. Dr McGinty’s White Paper will provide a foundation for our conversations and offer valuable perspectives on developing a more inclusive industry.
We also have a panel of speakers, comprising experts within the Defence industry to discuss the low rate of female participation in the Defence sector workforce, why it matters, and what can be done to unlock capability to address the Defence and STEM workforce crisis.
- Susan McGinty, Dr - Founder & CEO, Aya Leadership
- Sarah Pavillard - Founder & CEO, ADROITA
- Mai Le - Acting Director Defence & Aerospace, Investment NSW
- Margarita Klianev - Generation STEM Project Officer, CSIRO
- Rachael Sharp - Senior Consultant, TBH Consultancy
This event is a discussion aimed at engaging business leaders and decision makers in a strategic conversation about opportunities to make real inroads into Defence sector workforce challenges.
