    Event description

Please join us at the John Curtin Gallery for the opening night of IOTA24:

    Opening Night: 1 August 2024

    6:00pm-8:00pm

    Official proceedings commence 6:30pm

Following the success of IOTA21, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial returns with IOTA24, curated by Carola Akindele-Obe and Jude van der Merwe in collaboration with the John Curtin Gallery. This exhibition is informed by the theme ‘Codes in Parallel’ which contemplates the manifold languages found throughout contemporary craft practices.

IOTA24 Codes in Parallel spans the Indian Ocean region and features several international artists, along with work from First Nations Australia and Boorloo / Perth. This major exhibition sits at the centre of the multi-venue triennial, offering visitors access to contemporary craft practices and the role they play in our technological world. John Curtin Gallery is pleased to present IOTA24 Codes in Parallel as the first major exhibition to open in the IOTA24 festival program.
