This two-day workshop is designed for health professionals working with Aboriginal clients to develop their skills in caring for Aboriginal people and their families facing a life limiting illness and will explore the topics of cultural awareness in palliative care. The workshop will be presented by a variety of specialists utilising case studies and group discussion.

Target Audience: All Health Professionals working with Aboriginal clients and their families.

To enhance the capacity of the non-Indigenous health workforce to provide quality, holistic and culturally responsive palliative care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families.

The End-of-Life and Palliative Care Education and Training Framework is a tool outlining the essential knowledge and skills for healthcare professionals caring for those with end-of-life needs. It consists of three domains: Principles of Practice, Clinical Management, and Leadership/Management. Each domain's learning items are categorised into three expertise levels: Foundation, Consolidation, and Extension, forming a continuum of learning.

This education is at the WA DoH Framework Domain Level: Foundation.
