Step right up to the Ipswich Thriving Seniors Mini Ekka Showcase — a joyful celebration of creativity, talent, and community spirit! We’re inviting all seniors to take part in this fun social competition where your skills and passions take centre stage.
Every entry will be proudly displayed on event day, creating a vibrant exhibition of everything that makes our community extraordinary. A special guest judge will award prizes for 1st place in each category, adding a little friendly competition to the festivities.
Whether you bake, craft, grow, paint, stitch, build, or create — we want to see it! Submit your details now and choose your category so we can plan an unforgettable Mini Ekka experience for everyone.

Painting and Drawing | Creativity on paper or canvas. Any medium and pieces can be realistic, abstract or anything in between. | Maximum size 1m x 1m. | 7th August at 2:00pm |
Sewing, Knitting and Crochet | Examples: Quilts, patchworks, embroidery, clothing, bags, cushions, scarves, home decor | Items will be laid flat on tables or on boxes | 7th August 2:00pm |
Photography | Any experience level. Photos may feature any subject such as nature, people, animals, landscapes. | Maximum size A4 print. Photos will be displayed on wall. | 7th August 2:00pm |
Baking and Preserves | Examples: Scones, Cakes, Slices, Biscuits, Jams or Chutneys | No refrigeration required. Include a list of ingredients. | 10th August 9:00am |
Wood Craft | Examples: Wood burning, carved garden ornament, small wooden sculpture, small wood work projects. | Items will be displayed on tables. | 7th August 2:00pm |
Floral Arrangement | Example: Floral bouquet, table centerpiece, corsage, wreath | Real or artificial flowers | 10th August 9:00am |

Eligibility
You must be a member of Ipswich Thriving Seniors to submit an entry
You must RSVP your intention to submit by 31 July
Submission Requirements
You may submit entries for as many categories as you like
Maximum of three submissions per person per category
Entries must be delivered to the Springfield Lakes Community Centre by the designated deadlines
Entries are not for sale
Judging & Prizes
All Baking and Preserves entries will be tasted on the event day
All entries will be judged by a special guest judge
Prizes will be awarded for first place in each category
By submitting an entry to the Mini Ekka Senior Showcase, you acknowledge that this is a social competition and is intended for enjoyment and community participation. Our organisation accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or deterioration of items before, during, or after the event. All submissions are entered at the participant’s own risk.

Participants acknowledge the inherent risks involved in physical, social, and off-site activities such as physical exertion, transport risks and agree to participate voluntarily and at their own risk. The Springfield Lakes Community Centre is released from all claims, liabilities, or demands arising from participation, except where required by law.
