Please see below a few things you need to know for compe day.

What to wear on comp day?

You must wear either full length tights or long socks (just below kneecap). shorts and a teeshirt.

You do not have to wear a competition soft suit however baggy clothing is not acceptable, no track suits or overly loose shorts or shirts.

No caps or beanies.

You must wear fully closed shoes (no barefeet/jandals).

No straps allowed for grip assistance in deadlifts (figure 8 straps etc).

No elbow sleeves allowed.

Deadlift Competition Standards:

The bar cannot travel downward before reaching the final position (lock out) – no hitching or lapping.

At the completion of the lift, you must be in a full lock out position with your knees straight and shoulders back.

You cannot have the bar rest on the thighs during the lift.

You cannot step forward or back or move the feet laterally during the 'up phase'.

You must return the bar to the floor while maintaining control with both hands.

Competition Day Schedule:

7am to 7:30am – Weigh in and attempt card (please ensure you arrive on time).

8am – Lifters debrief covering all the rules including the "calls" and main things that will cause a missed lift.

9am – Comp commences

Results:

Everyone is a winner for competing however there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing for overall male and female.

The placings are decided by a formula which is basically a body weight to weight lifted ratio (IPF points).

Additional Information:

You can change your openers up to 5 minutes before your flight however once the flight has started you cannot change your attempt. If your attempt is successful you must increase your next attempt by a minimum of 2.5kg

You get three attempts.

You can have one handler.

There is food on places 5 minute drive from the venue.

There may be changes to the schedule on the day. The competition should take 1.5–2 hours.

There will be breaks in between each flight to allow refs and loaders a toilet break.

Plenty of car parking is available outside of gym gates.
