Irvington (NY) - A Day Out in the Hudson Valley

Just a short train ride, Irvington in the Hudson Valley, is one of the best places to experience fall in New York. So join us to explore this beautiful part of the state with a quick trip out of the city. The day will start with a classic brunch at Ludy Cafe, an awesome Aussie owned cafe serving the classics and of course a flat white.

After brunch the day is then yours to explore. Take your time to enjoy everything Irvington has to offer. Shop along Main Street, take a hike along the Irvington section of the Old Croton Aqueduct Historic Trail or discover the newly developed Bridge Street commercial area, right on the Hudson. Brunch at Ludy Cafe from 10.45am

Enjoy smashed avocado on sourdough or a true blue meat pie with side salad. We even have kids covered with vegemite toast or party pies and sausage rolls. All meals include a coffee/tea or non-alcoholic drink. You can purchase extra food and drinks directly from the cafe. Registration is essential as places are limited.

Getting there

Train - Its a 45 min train ride from Grand Central Terminal and the cost is $19.50 return. We will meet at Grand Central Terminal at 9.30am to catch the 9.50am departture to Irvington (more details will be shared with registrants closer to the date). If you want to get an earlier or later train thats fine too, you can just meet us at the cafe in Irvington from 10.45am. The return trip time is up to you with the trains running approx every 30 mins back to Grand Central. Please buy your own train tickets from Metro North. Driving - there is parking available at the Ludy Cafe and other locations around the town (metered street parking and paid lots).

From its quaint shops to its beautiful homes and spectacular Hudson River views, Irvington is a classic example of the best of the Historic Hudson River Towns. Odell's Tavern, built in the 1690s, was where the newly created State of New York's Committee of Safety met to discuss General George Washington's defeat in the Battle of Long Island. And the Irvington Town Hall Theatre is an exact replica of the Ford Theatre in Washington, D.C., made famous for the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
