ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr Gavin Knight

Gavin in passionate about helping people and organisations to protect their information, stay safe and live free. He is an experienced privacy professional and licensed private investigator with more than 20 years’ experience. He has worked in government sector leadership roles, including Chief Data Scientist at New Zealand Police, and as a Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer in the public health sector. He has also supported smaller private organisations to manage their data and privacy.

In July this year, Gavin founded GoPrivate Ltd, with a team of six to help SMEs to sort their privacy, risk and workplace issues. Aware that small businesses don’t have big budgets like large organisations, they have developed affordable packages that help SMEs manage their privacy and risks without breaking the bank.

Gavin is a family man and jazz musician. He has performed here, in Southwards Theatre on a couple of occasions to help raise funds for Kāpiti Coastguard.
