This event is the final phase of Tamas Oszvald storyteller’s six months mentorship program under the guidance of Jan Blake, a UK based leading storyteller and performer. Jan Blake has been performing worldwide for over twenty-five years, specialising in stories from Africa and the Caribbean. Within her AKUA Storytelling Network, she runs the Body of Words Storytelling Mentorship for emerging performers. Jan and Tamas worked around four topics, creating four full-evening one-man shows about Tricksters, Shapeshifters, Heroins/Heros and Lovers.
“As part of my mentorship, I was given challenging tasks: finding four stories for each topic, putting them in the right order considering the dynamics of the shows and the audience, working with a professional musician(s) and creating immersive experiences for the audience.
I chose the theme of LOVE as the most controversial one for myself.
Finding the musician was easy, Danny Haely is a professional jazz saxophone and clarinet player, with amazing improvisation skills to support spoken word art. Miss Honey Child is an American Creole who is dedicated to showcasing the foodways, traditions, and delicious bounty of her heritage, curating and delivering bespoke menus that are always sourced from local, seasonal ingredients.”
The Chef, the Storyteller and the Musician about love, that is bitter, that is sweet.
(This show is most suitable for adults or at least for youth older than 12.)
Bio
Tamas Oszvald is an emerging performer storyteller. His Roaming Trees Storytelling platform has seen him grab audiences on the international stages of Europe and Australasia, re-telling folk tales, myths and legends in his uniquely engaging way. He says he tells stories so that he can nurture his audience as a community, but even better, can create with them something transient that also has the power to make a long term imprint. His end goal is not to just tell a great story, but to learn with his listeners about what it means to be human.
