Mosca Media Australia and The Red Rattler Theatre are joining forces to present an evening that platform’s local documenters of hip hop! 

Through the lens of talented documenters in film, photography, and words this event will showcase powerful images & stories.

One of the highlights of the evening is a photo exhibition that captures the work of Liza Moscatelli (Mosca Media) & Adam Scarf through visual storytelling. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness iconic moments and personalities that have shaped the labor of their craft. 

Experience a thought-provoking film screening by Liza Moscatelli titled 'It's Our Duty! Reflections of Women & Hip Hop', co-produced by Kween G. The film will feature the reflections of hip hop pioneers Maya Jupiter, MC Trey, Kween G, Zeadala, DJ Josie Styles, and multidisciplinary artists Merenia Marin and Ghenoa Gela. Through collective storytelling, the all-female cast talk about challenges, wins, and aspirations for the future of women in hip hop.

Author talk featuring Mawunyo Gbogbo, an ABC journalist specialising in popular culture, and the author of 'Hip Hop & Hymns'. She has worked as a music and pop culture reporter for Double J and ABC News, a journalist for ABC News Radio, a segment producer for the Today show on the Nine Network; and an associate producer for Insight on SBS TV, where she won a UN Media Peace Award. Mawunyo was born in Ghana, raised in Muswellbrook in the NSW Hunter Valley, and now calls Sydney home.

To top it all off, brace yourself for an electrifying DJ set by Threatnique, beatmaker/producer & s live beats set by BVT.

This evening is not just a celebration but also a reminder of our duty to honor and preserve the rich legacy of Hip Hop. Join us as we pay homage to those who have dedicated their lives to documenting this cultural phenomenon.
