ITAR, EAR and Australian Export Controls Training and Workshop

Date: August 24 to 26

Day One (August 24): Basic Training

The basic training day will provide an overview of US and Australian export controls. The course is taught from an Australian perspective, with case studies and explanations about how we use the ITAR exemption, TAAs, letters of General Correspondence and other approvals to transact in controlled goods and technology. You will come away understanding what controls you need to have in place to manage technology under the ITAR, EAR and Australia’s DTCA.

Day Two (August 25): Advance Training

The Advanced Training Day will help participants understand more detailed information related to the management of export-controlled technology, including contract clauses, TAA clauses, risk mitigation strategies and the practical aspects of working with other entities in this space whilst ensuring compliance. We’ll take a detailed look at guidance documents, Government websites and tools used to understand the requirements.

Day Three (August 26): Workshop Day

The Workshop Day will allow participants to work on policies, procedures and other tools used by the business to safeguard controlled technology. Attendees will leave the training with five work-products they can take back to the business and use to immediately uplift their compliance program.

Days two and three are for staff that have responsibility for managing export-controlled technology on behalf of the business.
