    International White Cane Day "Power Trip" at Scitech

    All free tickets have been allocated to the below event, however you can purchase tickets from Scitech directly and are welcome to join in the audio described show.

    Sensory event at Scitech to mark International White Cane Day.

    Meet at City West station at 9.00am or Scitech at 9.30am.


    Scitech has created an interactive event, designed for people with vision impairment. Audio description is provided by DADAA, (Disability in the Arts, Disadvantage in the Arts, Australia) that provides access to arts and culture for people with disability. Please remember to bring your headphones and download the Sennheiser MobileConnect App in advance to enjoy the experience.

    The event includes:

    • Audio described tour of Scitech
    • Sensory presentation featuring exploding hydrogen
    • "Power Trip" - a 30 minute multi-sensory show

    "Energy is everywhere and is in lots of different forms. Power Trip explores how energy is transferred and transformed in a series of exciting and informative demonstrations including pyrotechnics, kinetic and potential energies, electric motors and plasma."

    We will also be able to physically touch some of the items featured in the show, like a giant Newton’s Cradle, plasma popper (a kind of "ray gun") and exploding Milo tin. Giving clients a hands on experience of the tools used in the show.

    All free tickets are now gone. If you missed out on a ticket, please join the waitlist for cancellations. You are also welcome to come along and purchase a ticket on the day.

    Companions/support workers are very welcome to join us but are not included in the free ticket. Please ensure they bring a valid companion card with them otherwise, they will need to pay for their own entry to Scitech.

    If you have reserved a ticket and can no longer attend, please let us know so that we can give your ticket to someone on the waitlist.
