International Women's Day x Champagne Tasting [SA]
Event description
Sommeliers Australia has partnered with the Champagne Bureau Australia* to host an informal tasting event that celebrates International Women’s Day and the important contribution of women to the culture, winemaking and business of the Champagne appellation.
A range of cuvees have been selected from Houses, Growers and Cooperatives across the appellation of Champagne. Some marques are recognised the world over, while others are sourced from smaller producers and might be less well known, but they are all making an impact on the Champagne scene in Australia/the world.Â
Core to the tasting are cuvees produced by women winemakers, with examples from the likes of:
Champagne Henriot : winemaker Alice Tetienne [Reims]
Michel Gonet : winemaker Sophie Signolle Gonet [Avize]
Perrier-Jouët : winemaker Séverine Frerson [Epernay]
Champagne Jacquart : winemaker Joëlle Weiss [Reims]
Duval Leroy : winemaker Sandrine Logette-Jardin [Vertus]
Marc Chauvet : winemaker Clotilde Chauvet [Rilly-la-Montagne]
Bruno Paillard : winemaker Alice Paillard [Reims]
Plus a selection of other cuvees will also be included in the line-up.
Join us for this 2 hour celebratory tasting: enjoy some amazing Champagnes and great snacks from The Lion, chat about Champagne, and you may just discover something new from the appellation!
