Murdoch University is proud to unveil our event for International Women's Day. The theme of IWD 2024 is 'Inspire Inclusion', and in our second year of the Ngala Kwop Biddi strategy, we reaffirm our commitment to championing Indigenous Knowledge and equity, diversity, and inclusion, by revealing that our first space on campus named after a woman will be posthumously named in honour of Dr Rosemary van den Berg, Noongar Elder, Murdoch University Lecturer, Writer, Historian, and the first Aboriginal person in Western Australia to be awarded a PhD.

Join fellow staff members at Murdoch University to celebrate International Women's Day, March 8, for the naming of the Rosemary van den Berg Room.

We acknowledge that Murdoch University is situated on the lands of the Whadjuk and Binjareb Noongar people. We pay our respects to their enduring and dynamic culture and the leadership of Noongar elders past and present. The boodjar (country) on which Murdoch University is located has, for thousands of years, been a place of learning. We at Murdoch University are proud to continue this long tradition.
