IWD Panel 2025: Women to the Front

WOMEN AT THE FRONT! 

March Forward this International Women's Day.  

This International Women's Day takes place nearly 100 years since the very first IWD protest event in Australia and 30 years after the United Nation’s Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action for achieving gender equality. And while the rallies and protests may have given way to breakfast events, what remains is that women have always been at the forefront of social progress, reshaping their local communities and setting new agendas for reform. Local advocacy can achieve some big outcomes with women at the front.  

YWCA Canberra’s IWD event will feature a discussion panel who are putting words and lived experience into action. Together we will share how women unite to create significant change to individual lives and contribute to collective gender equality.

In the face of significant challenges nationally and globally, the resilience of women to work for a greater good and make things happen.

Join us for Canberra’s premier IWD event. Join for networking and canapés served after the panel in the reception of The Street Theatre.
