Central Coast International Women’s Day - Balancing the Scales 

Presented by Central Coast IWD (CCIWD) in partnership with WOW Australia

Central Coast International Women’s Day (CCIWD), together with WOW Australia invite you to join us in celebrating International Women’s Day 2026!  With a long history of leading IWD celebrations in the region, CCIWD are planning something big in 2027 and have invited WOW Australia to run a special program this year in anticipation!

Come along as we explore the theme of Balancing the Scales with a robust panel conversation on the role economic security for women, complemented by performances from local musican, Katherine Vavahea, a multi-talented Indigenous Pasifika Australian artist, singer, songwriter and advocate, known for her soulful RnB and Soul music; and poet, -----glitta who?--------.  Jo Pratt, Executive Producer of WOW Festivals in Australia will then facilitate a WOW Think In, where as a community we can begin to co-design a WOW – Women of the World Festival especially for the Central Coast in 2027.  Come along, hear from a range of speakers, artists and women in your community and share your ideas!

Facilitator / Performer/s Bios:

Cathy Hunt AM

Cathy Hunt AM is a mission-driven leader and change-maker in the cultural, creative, and community sectors. She champions cultural expression as key to solving societal challenges, innovating to fill gaps and deliver impact and has extensive international experience in cultural project management, planning and policy development.

Cathy co-founded WOW in Australia and has initiated and/or produced 10 Festivals across the Country. Cathy has always had a focus on the economic security of artists and women, developing initiatives like the QuickstART microloan fund and investing in women led businesses. Recognised with an AM for services to arts, culture, and women, she is committed to equity and inclusion, and serves on various governance boards.

Katherine Vavahea:

Katherine Vavahea is a multi-talented Indigenous Pasifika Australian artist, singer, songwriter, and advocate known for her soulful music in R&B and Soul genres, often incorporating multiple languages for healing and empowerment, with notable works like her EP Mama's Soul Kitchen and songs such as "Days Gone By".

She's also a cultural storyteller, poet, actor, and dancer, working with vulnerable communities and using her platform to speak about trauma and social transformation, while calling the Central Coast home.

Enjoy $15 cocktail happy hour from 12pm – 1pm + Delicious burgers and street food from Beau’s Burgers.

This is an all ages event (under 18's to be accompanied by an adult)
