Do We Still Need Architects? AI and the Future of the Built Environment

You’d have to be living under a rock to have missed how quickly AI is moving into every industry. But architecture? That one has been flying under the radar, until now.

Generative design tools can turn a prompt into a building model. Feasibility work that once took weeks can now take minutes. AI is even checking plans against planning controls.

So what happens to a profession that takes six years to enter and is protected by registration? Is this architecture’s Uber moment? Or are judgement, liability and professional sign-off a moat that AI simply cannot cross?

We’re bringing together architects, technology leaders, developers and builders working on the frontline to explore what is genuinely changing, what is being overstated, and what it means for the people designing and delivering the built environment.

THE PANEL

Anycie Barakat, Vice President, Digital Code Engineering at Archistar.ai, bringing expertise in property technology, AI-powered feasibility and digital planning tools.

Gabrielle R Suhr, Project Director at SJB Architects, bringing experience in architecture, design leadership and complex project delivery.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Founders, operators, architects, developers, builders and tech-curious people who want a real debate about where AI is taking the built environment, not a product showcase.
