J'Accuse! The Lithuanian Holocaust Story π―π―π―
Event description
The Lithuanian Jewish community was decimated in the Holocaust: over 220,000 Jews, more than 95% of the population, were murdered.Β A key player in the massacre was Lithuanian nationalist Jonas Noreika, who is today revered as a national hero, and protected by the contemporary governmentβs official policy and the infamous Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Centre.
J'Accuse is a documentary movie following the experiences of two dissident campaigners: Grant Gochin, whose family was murdered by Noreika; and Silvia Foti, a brave Lithuanian woman fighting for the truth⦠and whose grandfather was Jonas Noreika.
At this not to be missed YJP event in collaboration with March of the Living, we are privileged to host both the lead cast members from the documentary, Grant Cochin and Silvia Foti. Live in person!
Whilst the documentary itself will be screened as part of the Jewish International Film Festival (JIFF), this event will give those who know and those who don't an intimate experience of hearing firsthand from the team behind the documentary and research.Β
The event will be moderated by Dean Levitan,Β a lawyer at MinterEllison, specialising in media and communications law. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Dean worked at Stand Up for 5 years as the campaign manager, helping to lead Stand Upβs efforts to mobilise the Jewish community toward important social policy change.Β Dean continues to share is time with Standup as theΒ current Chair and earlier this year,Β was the leader of the Young Adult cohort on the March of the Living Australia delegation.
This not to be missed event is NO COST and is set to be a breathtaking panel discussion. Don't snooze, book today!
