Event description

We invite you to the second Jewish Auckland's Book Club event

Special Guest host- Helene Ritchie

Wednesday 17th of July

19:00-21:00

At the Jewish Auckland Community Library

Free Entry, but registration is required

Helene Ritchie, a distinguished author and civic activist, invites you to discover her latest work. With a rich background as Wellington's first female deputy mayor and longest-serving city councillor, Helene also made history as the first Jewish female elected to the council.

Her new book "The Burnt Letter" delves into her mother Lidi's harrowing escape from the Nazis, the devastating loss of loved ones during the Holocaust, and Helene's own fifty-year journey to uncover her family's past.

As a registered psychologist and former board member of the NZ Holocaust Centre, Helene brings a profound depth to her storytelling, making this event one you won't want to miss.
