Critically-acclaimed, award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Jack Carty will take his formidable songbook and powerful live show on tour this September with a string of dates taking in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and ALDINGA!
Jack released his sixth studio album "Wake to a Bright Morning" in 2022 through his own label Big Door Recordings, with Rolling Stone calling the effort “his most accomplished, emotive, and ultimately, best work to date”. It’s a collection of songs written and recorded in living rooms, spare rooms, friends' bedrooms, and the odd studio, between London and Brisbane during years of living, writing and touring between Australia and The UK. There were no deadlines, no pressure, just Jack and some very talented friends making music, with the album’s lineup including Pianist J.J Stoney (Billy Bragg), Drummer Fred Claridge (Blanco White), Bassist Lukas Drinkwater, Georgia Mooney of All Our Exes Live In Texas, English folk darling Blair Dunlop, and beautiful Australian songwriter Emily Barker.
Jack has been making, touring and releasing original music for over a decade, earning a loyal grassroots following through intimate stories, honest songs and a powerful live show. In that time he has released six full-length studio albums and three EPs; taken home accolades including an APRA Professional Development Award and a MusicOz award for singer-songwriter of the year; toured internationally and played festivals from Austin to Barcelona; shared stages and collaborated with well-loved Australian artists from Josh Pyke, Katie Noonan, Sarah Blasko, Matt Corby and Bernard Fanning, to internationals like The Once and Dan Wilson; had songs on soundtracks; and even scored a #1 independent album and a Top 40 debut on the ARIA albums chart.
He is currently putting the finishing touches on a live album spanning his travels, due for release later this year.
