Join us for an intimate evening of music and stories as acclaimed West Australian folksinger Jack Davies performs live, accompanied by the shimmering harmonies of fellow songwriters Anna Schneider and Claud Tero. The trio will be performing songs from their new album “A Gust Of Wind Knocks Off My Hat”, as well as a few older favourites.

Jack says “In August 2025, we spent three days at JB's studio. An old cottage on Yugambeh country, nestled deep in the winding hills and bushland. Cows mooed in the morning, dogs barked in the afternoon, and the rhythm of not so distant road trains and motorbikes kept us company all day through. We recorded live takes late into the evenings, broken by warm dinners around the fire and listen throughs on the porch. Claud and Anna first heard (most of) the songs a day before the session, so with lyrics in hand we improvised and laughed our way through many of the attempts. This was not (entirely) a fault of preparedness but rather a hope to capture something dear, the sharing of music with friends, to have room to play around with the songs, to not get caught up in the overthinking of it all. I adore their musicianship and willingness to improvise. I find songs have a way of running away if you rehearse them too much, but these still feel very much close to heart. Anyway, that’s my ramble. I truly enjoyed making this record, thank you to JB, Claud, Anna and everyone who helped put it together. And thank you for listening, I hope it brings a little joy.”

Well known for his slick finger picking and rambling poetry, west australian songwriter Jack Davies began his days as a busker. After joining forces with his folk rock outfit “The Bush Chooks” in 2018, the group built a steady national following, selling out shows across the country with their electrified and dynamic takes on Jack’s introspective folk songwriting. After releasing a debut solo album in 2024, “Orange Moon Glow”, Jack has been travelling the continent full time, performing intimate acoustic shows to a dedicated national audience.

Now as 2025 rolls around, Jack is releasing a trio record with dear friends Anna Schneider and Claud Joy, both acclaimed songwriters in their own right. Their new album, “A Gust Of Wind Knocks Off My Hat”, is a celebration of the uncomfortable, awkward joy of being alive. Stripped back live takes, chairs creaking, layering old time guitar and shimmering harmonies. The trio will be touring this record across Australia between November 2025 and March 2026.

Be it solo, trio, or in various other arrangements, Jack is lauded for his emotive, witty lyricism, humorous stories, and somewhat clumsy stage presence.
