Originally from Solo, Indonesia, Jacob Jayasena is a rising voice in contemporary jazz whose music bridges cultures, histories, and traditions. Mentored by leading jazz figures Indra Lesmana, Judy Bailey, Kevin Hunt, and Steve Barry, Jacob has developed a sound that is bold, expressive, and unmistakably his own. His music draws from an extraordinary range of influences, weaving together American and Australian jazz, Javanese gamelan, Western classical music, and 17th-century Baroque partimento .

Jacob leads a new dynamic trio featuring Henry Hall on bass and Tom Vogel on drums. Together, they invite audiences on a thrilling musical journey where jazz meets classical form, mythology meets history, and tradition meets innovation. After a sold out show in April, they return to the Church Street Studios stage
