Jake Baxendale Sextet: Gardening Music
Event description
“Something essential happens in a vegetable garden. It’s a place where if you can’t say “I love you” out loud, you can say it in seeds. And the land will reciprocate, in beans.”
— Robin Kimmerer
Sometimes you say it with beans, sometimes you say it with music: Gardening Music is Jake Baxendale’s newest project celebrating gardening and the natural world. Performing with an all-new sextet, they present a collection of original compositions that emphasise melody, openness and generosity.
No stranger to 03 Sessions, having performed previously with prog-jazz legends The Jac, and the trans-Tasman collaboration Antipodes, the Wellington saxophonist's latest collection of like-minded, green-fingered souls brings him together with an all-Ōtautahi ensemble
