James Grant in Concert

We're delighted that James Grant, one of the most renowned and respected performers Scotland has ever produced is coming to play Portobello Town Hall for the first time.

James has been on the Scottish music scene spanning more than 30 years. His first major breakthrough was with Love and Money. Since then he has enjoyed a successful solo career along with many collaborations, the latest of these being with the highly successful "Butler, Blake & Grant" together with Normal Blake (Teenage Fan Club) and Bernard Butler (ex Suede).

James will be accompanied by his long term compadre and harmonica god Fraser Spiers on Harmonica. He was originally meant to be accompanied by cello but due to unforeseen circumstances this had to be changed. Fraser has played many times with James and will also be accompanying him at one of his 4 sold-out shows at the Cotiers Theatre in Glasgow next month. He’s also played with the likes of Paulo Nutini, Carol Kidd, Tam White and many others.. he’s a unique talent and a national treasure.

Doors open at 7pm and the concert will start at 7.45pm.
