Jamestown: Land of Brewers & Alchemists - Tour with SPIRITS Museum

Price $17 – $33 USD + BF Get tickets

Event description

In collaboration with Jamestown Rediscovery, SPIRITS is pleased to announce our first walking tour. Join us on Monday, June 10th, as we explore the historic site of Jamestown Fort with the esteemed Director of Archaeology Dave Givens, and our curator Clanci Jo Conover.

During the tour, you will get to see where America's first distillers practiced, what materials they used, and the different motivations for conducting distillation at Jamestown. We will also look at the brewing operations being conducted at the settlement. The tour will include a look at the grounds, current excavations and projects, and conclude with a visit to the Archaearium, the on-site museum that displays archaeological finds. Following the event, participants will have the option to enjoy lunch at the waterfront Dale House Cafe. Tickets are $33.00 and must be purchased in advance; tickets include entry to both Jamestown Rediscovery and National Park Services land.

This event is presented in conjunction with SPIRITS Museum's Virtual Exhibition: America's First Distillers and The James River. The exhibition will launch on June 3rd and be featured through August on spiritsmuseum.org.
