What a wonderful ball tonight, as always it was a whirlwind of delight. With everyone so friendly and eager to dance I enjoyed every minute. Thank-you to Heather and Phillips Dog.
Jane Austen Ball
Description
“What a charming amusement for young people this is, Mr. Darcy! There is nothing like dancing after all. I consider it as one of the first refinements of polished societies.
Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
You are cordially requested to grace us with your delightful presence, as we gather to celebrate the enchanting world of Jane Austen. Let us engage in spirited conversation, partake in the most agreeable dances, and delight in the company of dear friends and charming acquaintances.
A light supper will be served to enhance our delightful gathering, provided by Sophie of Samford Village.
Attire: Regency dress is most warmly encouraged, to truly embody the elegance of the period.
Music shall be graciously provided by our esteemed band, Phillip's Dog. All dances will be elegantly instructed during the evening; however, it would be of great advantage if you might attend a class prior to the celebration.
Prior to the ball we will hold a class to teach some of the dances on the programme. The Farmers Hall, 30 Main Street, Samford on 14th August at 7:30pm. Cost $4 at the door, or online https://events.humanitix.com/jane-austen-dance-workshop
