Jane’s Walk of Homebush
Event description
Jane’s Walk of Homebush as part of the Villages and Centres Strategy
Would you like to know more about what is happening in Homebush? Then come join us on the Jane Jacobs community walk and hear from guest speakers about the evolution Homebush is under-going and be a part of an open forum of ideas and productive feedback. The final stop is an opportunity to formalise your feedback at the drop-in session!
The walk is a global movement inspired by the late Jane Jacobs (1916-2006). She was a writer, urbanist and activist who championed a community-based approach to city-building. She had no formal training as a planner, and yet her 1961 book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, introduced ground-breaking ideas about how cities function, evolve, and fail that have become conceptual pillars for today’s architects, planners, policymakers, activists, and other city builders.
