January Holiday Programme-GARIN

STEAMS is an integrated approach to learning topics of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths, and Society that fosters critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration. Its aim is to teach real world skills through engaging methods whilst allowing individuals to be creative. 

STEAMS Holiday programmes follow the same principles.

Garin College 15-17 January

This holiday programme will be designed around the theme of INSECTS! Participants will rotate through Art and Engineering, Cooking and Science, and Science and Engineering during the 3 days, spending one day in each area.

Art and Engineering-the creation of insects! Each student will create an amazing sculpture designed around an insect-real or imaginary.

Cooking and Science-eating insects? You bet! Students will bake cookies using the high protein insect flour! They will create other food items around the insect theme like 'dung beetle energy balls' and possibly some 'stainglass' insect wings!

Science and Engineering-electronics! Participants will create a few different insect robots, learning about balance, design, soldering, electrical circuits, and much more.
