Japanese Decoden with Squishy Icing and Miniature Charms with Anther

Decoden is a popular trend in Japan deliciously decorating items with fake icing, cutely topped with various charms of characters, bows, rhinestones, food. 
The workshop includes your pick of 10 charms per person. We encourage you to bring charms or small figures of characters you may like to theme your decoden around, if you have them.

Each student will receive two small piping bags of silicone to create squishy delectable icing from. 

• You may either bring your own small items to decorate (eg: phone or console cases, hairbrushes, photocard holders, photo frames, trinket boxes, mini mirrors, keychains, pillboxes)

• Or purchase a ticket option to select from items Laneway Learning provide 
  
  ****BYO box to carry your drying items (+allow space for your decorations)  

What will we cover?

We'll be:

• each mixing two icing colors with translucent silicone, glitter powder and paint

• learning and practicing piping techniques with different icing tips

• icing your item

• decorating with charms, beads and glitter flakes

• lowering your item into your BYO box via a non-stick base, securing it for transport home

Who will be Teaching?

Acanthus (Anther) Oria Low [they/them] is a collector of hobbies and a small-space suburban keeper of many species of unconventional animals, and chronic pain fighter. They are a foster carer for the Rabbit Sanctuary and are passionate about sharing environmentally friendly, low or no cost enrichment for animals.
Anther has dabbled in editorial makeup, cosplay, digital design, dungeons and dragons, and so so many crafts. Find them and their animals on Instagram.
