Japanese Joints | Creating a Trivet
Traditional Japanese joinery is made entirely without the use of metal fasteners or adhesives. “Sashimono” is a technique for assembling furniture and other wooden items without nails, using both simple and highly complex wood joints. This workshop will enable you to accurately mark out the joint, learn to use a Japanese saw & cut out joints with a chisel. Creating a trivet that will protect tables and bench tops from hot pans and serving dishes.
