Jars

Set in a small, rural Australian town, and focused on the strength of rural women, Jars explores the understanding of rural families and how they negotiate identity, expectations, emotional repressions, memories and sacrifice in the name of being the ‘good daughter’. When the mother, Valerie, reveals that she wants to sell the family home and move to the comfort of the city, her daughters all react differently, ranging from anger to understanding, to guilt-ridden excitement. What does it mean to lose home? What does your reaction say about it?
