    Event description

JAYESS is a Coffs Coast rapper and beat maker who has made a name for himself by delivering real and raw music that his peers can relate to and, having gigged a fair bit around these parts, knows how to bring high energy to the stage.

Counting among his influences American rappers Hopsin and J. Cole, along with Australian rapper Kerser, the 23 year old is something of a mentor to his peers seeking their own pathway through life, declaring, “My main motivation is to show young people that they can chase their dreams".

JAYESS has curated this line up, which features DJ Bonza, plus special guest rappers Mumbo, Tom Dixko, RUHTO, BEUGZ301 with C-19 and DSparrow from the Coffs Coast and Bellingen.

School’s Out Sessions are end-of-term live music gigs produced by young people, hosted at Studio BMH (Memorial Hall).

Young people who voluntarily join the program are mentored by the Venue Coordinator and other community members involved in the music industry. They are supported to practice and pick up skills in technical production, programming, promotion and event coordination.

Active participants have the opportunity to share in event profit, including revenue generated by the refreshments kiosk, thus learning basic business skills.

Write to Memorial.Hall@bellingen.nsw.gov.au to get involved.
