Event description

We are inviting high school aged instrumentalists and vocalists in years 9-12 to spend a week on campus and explore the world of Jazz and Improvisation.

Meet like-minded musicians and develop your playing, skill set and creativity when approaching Jazz music and exploring Improvisation. The week of tuition is supported by a range of staff from the Jazz and Improvisation department at the Melbourne Conservatoirum of Music and covers a variety of sectional workshops and learning labs.

Participants will engage in instrument / voice specific workshops, small ensemble playing, group singing, group rhythm/drumming, tools for improvisation, listening sessions and jam sessions.

The final afternoon will feature an informal concert of small ensemble performances to celebrate the week.

    PARKING

The City of Melbourne has recently changed the parking restrictions around the Southbank Campus. Parking control hours are now expanded to 7am–10pm, seven days per week, and are capped at three hours. A $2-per-hour fee after 7pm is also now in place. There is no change to the $4-per-hour peak rate between 7am–7pm. Parking inspectors are regularly in the area fining drivers who overstay their meter, so we encourage everyone to be aware and avoid an expensive fine. More information.
