Jazz Cafe

Birth of the Cool

This concert is a chance to enjoy the music from our jazz ensembles in a relaxed and fun setting. This year we will be presenting music with a focus on the famous Miles Davis album Birth of the Cool. Our guest artist, saxophonist Danny Junor will explore the music of Lee Konitz, one of the musicians recorded on that album. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own food and drink (including alcoholic beverages as desired) as the open space in the Performing Arts Centre is transformed into a jazz club to rival 1950s Los Angeles jazz club, The Haig.
