This year the Konrad Park Quartet has the privilege of collaborating with one of Australia’s jazz legends, trumpeter, composer and arranger Miroslav Bukovsky.
Miroslav has made a great impact on the Australian Jazz scene since arriving here in 1968 from Czechoslovakia.

Known for his strong, lyrical performances and eclectic jazz style, Miroslav’s rich tone and stylistic authority are perfectly expressed through his use of both trumpet and flugelhorn, and this concert will draw on the many and varied influences shared by Miroslav and the quartet.

Miroslav has long been fascinated with the clash of cultures that jazz can embody. The concert, with its focus on the music of Miles Davis, explores the free-flowing melody and atmospheric groove of Miles during the late sixties.

The Konrad Park Quartet will perform original arrangements written by three of its members; Kelly Ottaway, Al Dobson and Konrad Park.
This band has the collective age of over 200 years, and as we take a musical look back towards Miles, this quartet reflects some of the contributions of Miles Davis through the continuum of jazz.

Tickets are only $25 ea - or buy four tickets for $80.
