The Art of Slow Looking: Terra Nullius
Description
Join us for a Slow Looking Tour at JCG on Thursday 6 August, exploring our current Christopher Pease: Terra Nullius exhibition.
Facilitated by Mel Macaulay, Gallery Education Coordinator, this mindful practice creates space and time to connect more deeply with art. Rather than rushing from artwork to artwork, participants are introduced to three selected artworks and encouraged to sit, pause, observe and allow the work to reveal itself, following where it leads their thoughts and feelings.
During the session, we will introduce simple pedagogy for engaging with art through mindful observation and reflection. Following the tour, enjoy tea and coffee with the other participants and share what you noticed, discovered and experienced together.
This event is being hosted in support of Curtin University’s Disability Pride Month, in partnership with Act, Belong, Commit’s Active August month.
