Event description
Current Perspectives Lecture Series
Petah Coyne is a contemporary American sculptor and photographer renowned for her large and small scale hanging sculptures and floor installations. Using innovative and disparate materials, her media has ranged from the organic to the ephemeral– trees, human hair, scrap metal, wax, silk flowers, religious statuary, and taxidermy. Coyne’s work has been the subject of more than 45 solo museum exhibitions and resides in numerous permanent museum collections.
As the 2024 Jedel Visiting Artist, Petah Coyne will engage students in dialogue, critique, and share experiences of her own art practice. The Jedel Visiting Artist allows students to enhance their educational experience with contemporary ideas.
