Jeff Usher's Jazz Unit

Jeff Usher’s Jazz Unit is more than just a band: it is an Australian jazz tradition, and on Saturday 15 March its latest incarnation will perform at JMI Live from 4PM-6PM. This will be the second concert in the series ‘Jeff Usher’s Forty Years of Jazz’, and features Jeff Usher on piano, Brad Esbensen (trumpet/flugelhorn), Martin Kay (alto sax), Ken Chow (tenor sax), Nicholas Maskell (bass) and Joe Rutledge (drums). This concert will feature Jeff’s arrangements of some of his own tunes plus classics by Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane, and maybe a couple of surprises.
