This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Don't miss this special Dry Season creative opportunity, as Darwin Artist Aly de Groot returns to Godinymayin with a special weaving workshop: Wish Upon a Jellyfish.  Extending from her upcoming Darwin Festival outdoor installation, Katherine participants will work with Aly over a Saturday afternoon to weave bright and happy jellyfish intended to take over the trees in Darwin's Festival Park this coming August.

In return for helping create a new artistic habitat, workshop participants at this Godinymayin workshop will have naming rights for the jellyfish they work on. Attendees will also receive a goody bag of special rewards from the artist and from our friends at the Darwin Festival. Places are limited to 30, and children under 14 are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All materials will be supplied, so all you really need to do is sign up for a spot, dream of the undersea world and special creatures in it, and come along to Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre on Saturday 18 June from 1 to 4pm.
